This is a fair point.  I am currently using mirrordir (something like rsync) 
to backup  about 75G of photos. I suppose it could have some advantages to 
use fsvs/svn for this. I'm not sure it outweighs the extra complication over 
just making a snapshot, but it is worth thinking about.
